It's getting hot in here

Things heat up on the new Every Third Thursday as Dave Lee and the Signal Snowboards crew test their theory that a snowboard with a hot base will go faster. Snowboards slide down a mountain because friction from the board heats up the snow, creating a thin layer of water for the board to glide on. Dave tries to accelerate that process by incorporating a heat film into the board's base. He packs up everything he needs to build a snowboard into his Toyota 4Runner and heads to Park City Mountain Resort. With the help of some copper wire and batteries, the snowboard's temperature cranks all the way up to 128 degrees. Then it's up to snowboarder Alex Cato to see how the snow-melting board performs on the slopes at Park City.
