The first-ever BASE Jump from Mount Kilimanjaro is absolutely insane

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro (the highest peak in Africa and the only mountain in the world to contain five different climate zones) is a serious and dangerous undertaking for the even the most experienced mountaineers. Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro only to BASE jump from the peak, however? Well, that's downright insane. Just ask Valery Rozov, who recently completed the first ever leap from "The Roof of Africa", ascending to 17,913 feet above sea level before beginning his one minute free-fall back to camp. If you're a fan of human accomplishment, this one is for you.

Take a wingsuit vacation to Switzerland

It feels crazy to say, but we've seen plenty of wingsuit jumps over the past few years, and while the novelty of watching a human being literally fly will never fully fade, it takes something special to really grab our attention these days. This jump, which captures Brandon Mikesell soaring through the stunning summer countryside in Switzerland, is exactly that. Maybe it's the multi-angle GoPro footage, the narrow crevice he zips through at the end, or perhaps its just the stunning scenery, but this one somehow feels completely fresh and totally insane. Check it out.

Witness the first-ever wingsuit flight over the Great Pyramids of Giza

Cédric Dumont is not your typical crazy wingsuited man. He has a degree in Applied Sports & High Performance Psychology and is fluent in French, English, Dutch, German, and Spanish. So it's clear that he's got the mental capacity to take on insane stunts like making the first ever wingsuit flight over the Great Pyramids of Giza in Egypt.

Erik Roner keeps things lighthearted & fun, so fun you might not even notice he's effing flying in this episode—like fy-ing! Want a good view of New York City's Freedom Tower? Get a wingsuit

Is this video Holy? Rank it.

Construction is still underway on the Freedom Tower in New York City. (Not that that deterred a group of BASE jumpers.) Before the tenants move in, five members of the Red Bull Air Force decided to take a closer look for themselves. Donning wingsuits, the group jumped out of a plane and reached speeds of 120 miles per hour before landing on a barge in the middle of the Hudson River. Along the way, they took in some incredible views of One World Trade Center and the other iconic building in NYC's Finacial District.

Would you jump out of a plane? Tell us in the Comments.

Fan Friday: You won't believe the wingsuit BASE jump Clem Newell pulled off

Every Friday, we showcase the best videos sent into us by our fans in a little something we, and the rest of the Internet, like to call Fan Friday.

For wingsuit flyers like Clem Newell, Switzerland's Lauterbrunnen Valley is like the North Shore is to surfers. With 700-meter (2,300 foot) cliff walls and stunning views of the valley below, wingsuit flying has taken over as one of the more popular activities in the region with thrill seekers. Newell and his wingsuit partner Will Ostrick filmed multiple flights in the valley and the stunts they pulled off are simply jaw-dropping.

Dean Potter took his dog BASE jumping

Click here to watch the Most Popular Videos on Network A

Dean Potter is one of the premier adventurers of this generation. His rock climbing, slacklining, and wingsuit-BASE jumping exploits have brought him great acclaim. For his latest stunt, however, Potter is receiving a lot of criticism.

At the Mountainfilm Festival in Telluride, Potter unveiled a trailer for his short film When Dogs Fly that shows him doing a wingsuit BASE jump with his dog, Whisper, strapped to his back. Potter defended his actions on his blog, outlining the steps he took to insure Whisper's safety (goggles, harness, carabiners, climbing rope):

I want you all to know that I do not force Whisper to do anything she
doesn’t want to do. When we wake up in the morning, if Whisper wants
to stay at home or camp, she is free to do so. This has never happened
though and she always nips and yips at our heels and prods us to hop
to it and get going.

Last summer when I was wingsuit BASE-jumping with Whisper she never
once didn’t want to come along. In fact, whenever I put on my wingsuit
or pack my parachute, little Whisper nestles close and begs to come
along.

That hasn't stopped people from saying that Potter's actions amount to animal cruelty. "What sort of sick person puts an animal at risk like that?" read one comment on YouTube. Another said, "I'm not one of those kooky animal rights types but why on earth would you do this? Dogs hate heights, and they hate falling. This is very selfish attention seeking behavior."

Do you think Potter should have BASE jumped with his dog? Tell us in the Comments.
